About

Professional training and a deeply human approach

Hello, I'm Margaret

Margaret Dodds

I am a mum of two and I trained as a counsellor and hypnotherapist nearly 30 years ago. I worked as a social worker and mental health officer and have extensive experience supporting people through difficult times in their lives. I wanted to bring my existing skills and experience to help people at the most challenging times in their lives.

I bring together professional training and a deeply human approach to support families and individuals during life's most profound transitions.

My Story

Both my parents died within 11 months of each other. Sitting with them, creating moments of comfort, music and peace, taught me that presence is everything. If I could do that for them, I can hold that same space for others - with warmth, respect, and careful attention to detail.

This deeply personal experience shaped my understanding of what families need during these profound transitions. It taught me the value of simply being present, of creating moments of peace, and of honouring each person's unique journey.

My Approach

Bespoke and Inclusive

Whether you seek spiritual, religious, or non-religious support, your values and wishes always lead the way.

Gentle Advocacy

I help you feel heard by services, venues, and professionals. My background in social work means I understand how to navigate complex systems while keeping your needs at the centre.

Steady and Organised

I manage the moving parts - coordination, communication, and details so you can focus on what truly matters: love, rest, and being present with those you care about.

Compassionate Presence

Drawing on my experience as a counsellor, hypnotherapist, and holistic practitioner, I bring warmth, respect, and careful attention to every interaction.

Why I Do This Work

After nearly 30 years of supporting people through life's challenges - as a social worker, mental health officer, and counsellor - I found my calling in accompanying people through life's final journey. This work combines all my professional skills with the most important lesson I've learned: that being truly present for someone in their time of need is the greatest gift we can offer.

Every life is unique and deserves to be honoured with dignity, authenticity, and care. Whether I'm crafting a ceremony, sitting vigil, or helping someone plan their own farewell, my commitment is always the same: to create a space of peace, respect, and genuine human connection.
