Living Funerals & Pre-Planning

Some people wish to gather while they can be present - to share memories, love, and laughter. Others prefer to prepare their wishes in advance, easing the burden for loved ones later.

Living funerals can include

  • A gathering at home, outdoors, or in a chosen venue
  • Readings, music, tributes, or quiet moments of reflection
  • Memory boxes, keepsake letters, and recordings
  • A celebration of life while you can be present to enjoy it

Pre-planning can include

  • Guidance on music, readings, venues, tone and eco-options
  • Capturing preferences in writing to share with loved ones and funeral directors
  • Planning the ceremony in advance for peace of mind
  • Ensuring your wishes are honoured exactly as you want

Fees: Priced according to scope (planning only, or planning plus future ceremony)

Ceremonial Ashes Scattering

A gentle, symbolic way to say goodbye and return a loved one's ashes to nature - whether by water, woodland, hillside or garden. Each ceremony is personal, heartfelt, and guided by your wishes.

What this can include

  • Words of remembrance, blessing, poem or silence
  • Symbolic acts such as scattering petals, leaves or biodegradable confetti
  • Music (recorded or live), readings and reflection
  • Keepsakes such as small portions of ashes, or printed readings
  • Coordination with venues, landowners or boat operators where needed

Location ideas

  • Woodland, beach, loch or river
  • Garden of remembrance
  • Private land (with permission)
  • Chartering a small boat for a water ceremony

Practicalities

Guidance on permissions, access, weather planning and eco-urns. Simple, intimate gatherings through to fuller hosted ceremonies.

Fees: From a short service to a fuller ceremony - priced to your plan. Travel as above.
